Derby A City Full Of Exciting Entertainment
Whenever you are in Derby, you do not have to worry about what kind of entertainment is offered in the city since there are a host of entertainment activities that you will enjoy. First of all, Derby has a host of entertainment spots for children and the family. 'The Public' is a marvelous community and cultural center where people converge for exhibitions, social activities and live performance. 'The Assembly Rooms' is a multipurpose auditorium that houses a great hall where you can watch movies and attend other entertainment events. The biggest theatre however is the 'Derby Theatre' with a seating capacity of 535 in the main house. Featuring the latest box office movies, this theatre is a natural choice for most people when they desire to catch a movie. There is also the Guidehall Theatre a smaller theatre that is located just opposite The Assembly Rooms with a seating capacity of about 250. The Buxton Opera House is also a popular venue for different entertainment events.
There are several annual entertainment activities that take place in Derby annually. One such event is the Summer Beer Festival, which is not only big in the region but the country. The festival attracts about 10,000 participants from different parts of the country every year on July. This festival is followed on September, by the ever-splendid Derby Feste, a festival that last for 3 days. The festival features displays of culture and arts and is graced by various local and international artists. Another weeklong festival hosted in Derby is the Jazz festival, which is organized to celebrate and embrace Jazz music.
